The Swedish School in London admits students with a basic knowledge of the Swedish language, as the majority of our teaching is in Swedish. We follow the Swedish curriculum and issue grades in accordance with governing documents, which enables students to seamlessly continue their education should they return to Sweden. Our students will be able to apply for any Sixth Form or university they wish.

The Swedish School in Shanghai (Svenska Skolan i Shanghai) was founded 2001. We offer education in the Swedish language for students aged 6 to 16 years old, following the Swedish School System grade F – 9. The objective is to maintain and develop the Swedish language for students with Swedish as a mother tongue. The Swedish School of Textiles offers undergraduate and graduate programmes combining textile technology, design, management and entrepreneurship. Under the direction of experienced technicians, design students are given the opportunity to realise their textile designs in a lab environment—about 90 percent of students in our survey expressed they were satisfied with the school’s workrooms and resources. The BA student cohort is heavily female and not open to the international community. In contrast, the MA student cohort is open to the international community, and one-third of the MA student cohort is from out of the country. Indeed, undergraduate students expressed they were dissatisfied with the school’s gender and international diversity, while graduate students were satisfied with the level of diversity. With the exception of MA technical courses, students’ ratings of the school’s courses were above average across the board in comparison to the ratings of other schools in our survey.
